Green Gourmet, Judy Krohn
I love this picture of Judy Krohn, house chef at The Palate and "Green Gourmet". I have given her this name as she is the embodiment of not wasting, whether that be perfectly good grape vines growing on your fence or an unbelievable managery of left over food in your fridge that magically turns into a gourmet feast. Everything fresh from her farm is generously shared at our classes....very Alice Waters like. The most coveted of classes being the May Foraging class where morels, fiddle heads and nettles top the ingredients!

The Palate Brunch, Saturday January 16th 2010

Wow! The sun came out and Stockholm buzzed with morning activity as chef Judy Krohn finessed the stove at The Palate. Coffee was served as the homemade bagels got started, Judy being assisted in the preparation by the class attending. Did you know you stuck your finger in the middle to make the hole and "spin" on a floured surface? The second course of Baked Eggs with Tomatoes and Spinach followed while the Mimosa's were being poured. A leisurely break gave patrons time to meet and greet new friends from Red Wing and Burnsville and shop a bit before returning for the Roasted Winter Fruit and Mixed Grain Granola. A most relaxing start to the New Year!
Thanks to all who came; see you at the next Class February 13th for Valentine's Day dinner.
